The students looked at each other, their eyes wide with excitement. What was about to happen?
For the students, it was a day that would go down in school history, a day that would be remembered for years to come. And for the BBC, it was a chance to bring a little bit of excitement and joy into the lives of these high schoolers.
With that, the courtyard erupted in cheers and applause as a group of students walked out onto the stage, looking stunned and delighted. It turned out that they had been selected to participate in a special BBC project, one that would give them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Suddenly, the school’s principal, Mrs. Johnson, stepped out onto the courtyard, microphone in hand. “Students and faculty, I have an extraordinary announcement to make,” she began. “Today, July 24, 2006, is a special day for Daisy High School. The BBC has chosen our school to be part of a unique surprise event, and we’re honored to be a part of it.”
