One of the things that I’ve learned along the way is that being a radio rebel isn’t just about being contrarian or provocative for its own sake. It’s about being willing to take risks, to challenge assumptions, and to push boundaries. It’s about being a voice for those who might not otherwise be heard.
But as I quickly learned, that vision wasn’t exactly what the powers that be had in mind for me. I was encouraged to play it safe, to stick to the tried-and-true formats, and to avoid controversy at all costs. But I knew that if I did that, I’d be sacrificing my integrity, and the integrity of my show.
