Solarwinds Netflow Analyzer Page

1. Executive Summary In modern network environments, bandwidth congestion and security anomalies often go unnoticed until users complain. SolarWinds NetFlow Analyzer (NFA) addresses this blind spot by transforming raw flow data (NetFlow, IPFIX, sFlow, J-Flow, etc.) into actionable traffic intelligence. It integrates with SolarWinds Orion Platform or operates as a standalone module, providing granular visibility into who is using which application, where they are going, and how much bandwidth they consume—without needing tap or span ports. 2. What Is NetFlow Analyzer? SolarWinds NetFlow Analyzer is a flow-based network monitoring tool that collects, analyzes, and reports on traffic patterns from routers, switches, firewalls, and other flow-enabled devices. Unlike packet sniffers (which capture full packets), NFA works on flow records —statistical summaries of conversations between source and destination IPs, including ports, protocols, and byte/packet counts.
